Roll Call is a projected memorial. The audience is encouraged to log-on to a website created for the piece, where they can add the
names of people they wanted to remember to a collection of names that are continuously projected onto the walls of the gallery.
The names are projected via a live webcast that uses a computer, a video projector and several mirrored objects. The mirrored objects reflected the names throughout the entire space of the installation, creating an atmosphere of light and color.
While most memorials attempt permanency, this memorial evokes the temporality of life by the use of projected light and the dislocation between real space and cyberspace. Medium: video projector, computer, internet connection, website, mirrored objects Date: 2001
